The Trump administration is considering a potential land exchange or access arrangement that could allow Nevada developer Kingsbarn Realty Capital to obtain a strip of Yosemite National Park land for a private access road to its 83-acre Hazel Green Ranch property near the park. The proposal revives a private-road effort that previously failed under earlier administrations and in court. The Interior Department said no final decision has been made and that any proposal would undergo legally required review and public-notification processes.

A federal pause on portions of a disputed border-security construction project in and around Big Bend National Park has been extended through September 30, 2026. The project prompted litigation alleging risks to religious freedom, businesses and archaeological sites after bulldozers appeared in the park. Although CBP says it will not build a 30-foot bollard wall through the park, plans described in the article include more than 200 paved or repaved patrol roads, detection technology and about 17 miles of vehicle barriers within the 801,163-acre park.
